07:01 pm - Baby's First Hike Okay, I made it through my first week of work. I had no idea that being away from your child could be so HARD. It's actually great to be back at work, I really enjoy it, but I am so SAD to leave Kylah every day. When I get home I just can't huge her and squeeze her enough. I get a knot of anxiety in my stomach every day when I leave her. The girls at work all sympathize and tell me it will get better.
One of my dreams of motherhood was to put my baby in a pack and take her out into nature. This weekend, I took her for her first hike. It was as awesome as I imagined it, even though she slept most of the way. When she was awake, she could not stop swiveling her head and staring at everything. We hiked for about 2 hours. I carried her this nifty Snuggli pack. Today I am nice and sore -- I think from lugging all the extra weight.

I'm already planning our next outing together. We are so lucky to live in a county with so many beautiful parks. Sometimes I think we live in the most beautiful place in the world. Current Mood: anxious

I sooo remember my first days back at work with Jack. I totallyl feel for you--I cried every time I took him to the babysitter. It gets more bearable, but it's always so nice to come home to your little one! Good luck--and well done introducing your child to our beautiful world! -ABV
Smart you, to introduce her to nature so early, and foster her love of the outdoors. The pictures are wonderful. =)
